MOX-LINDE offers a wide range of industrial gases and technologies for air and water pollution control. Our diverse product offering, combined with our ability and successes to integrate the right combination of technologies into your processes, set MOX-LINDE apart from other industrial gases suppliers in Malaysia.
MOX-LINDE has concentrated its effort on two BOC Gases developed processes - Vitox and pH control. Companies are finding that "going green" is not only being responsible to the environment but also helps reduce costs. Cleaner production, better product and process management, and most importantly, heightened awareness has made these two processes very marketable in the 90s and in the 21st century.

Oxygen (Vitox)

Wastewater treatment plants have billions of bacteria that need oxygen (usually derived from the 21% oxygen in air) to help them break down wastes from harmful to harmless matter. By providing pure oxygen, the bacteria population can increase tremendously, thus causing a much higher treatment capacity in the plant. In addition, the surface of these plants are not as volatile as those with air bubblers or stirrers - less VOC (volatile organic carbon) emissions result, leaving the surrounding air more pleasant to breathe. A side stream of water is taken out, oxygenated and returned to the treatment tank. MOX-LINDE offers a broad range of pollution control technologies, and can integrate the "right" mix of technologies to help new and existing treatment facilities comply with water pollution control requirements.

The Vitox System for biological treatment of wastewater is an efficient means of dissolving pure oxygen to support bacteria in an activated sludge plant. When oxygen is used high levels of biomass concentrations can be supported, resulting in less surplus sludge production which reduces transport and off-site disposal costs.
When retrofitted to an existing facility, the Vitox System provides a low capital way to increase treatment capacity while reducing power consumption. This eliminates the need for antifoam additives and minimizes VOC emissions, odour and noise. Many greenfield effluent plants have been built with a Vitox System at the centre of the treatment system. This has provided operators with robust and flexible facilities that cost less to build and are more compact than conventional facilities.

Carbon dioxide (pH control)
|
| |
These look like smaller versions of Vitox and dissolved carbon dioxide instead. Carbon dioxide dissolves in water to form the mild carbonic acid, which has a wonderful property, ie the pH cannot go below 4. Traditionally used mineral acids, such as hydrochloric and sulphuric acids can cause the pH to suddenly become acidic. Secondly, hydrochloric, sulphuric and other mineral acids used to adjust the pH of process, potable, and wastewater are highly corrosive and represent potential environmental health and safety hazards. Carbon dioxide offers a safe, accurate, and cost-effective alternative to harsh mineral acids and expensive organic acids.
